What is partnering pedagogy?
Students are given more opportunity in the classroom to express themselves while incorporating technology. The textbook, Teaching Digital Natives: Partnering for Real Learning, by Marc Prensky discusses the teaching strategy of partnering and incorporating in the classroom. Almost any question to have about it could be answered in this textbook, including the different types of nouns (tools) that can be used in the classroom. This book contains many aspects on what is important to today's students and how this approach can work in the classroom along with how to organize it. Teaching Digital Natives also discusses different subjects that partnering can be incorporated into different subjects. Thinking about how it affects students is also important but this book promotes how to think about the students and their passions rather than classes and content. Understanding how to plan is important but this book does not leave that out as it discusses how to become better and relate questions to students and their passions. As every educator knows assessment is critical but behold, this wonderful textbook goes into detail about different assessments to use in the partnering pedagogy classroom. Overall, this is a very interesting textbook full of resourceful information that I plan to purchase for future references.
